Same Day Delivery Nairobi

Someone remembers an anniversary at 11am. A colleague is in hospital and visiting hours end this evening. A friend gets news worth celebrating today, not on Thursday. Same-day flower delivery exists for these moments, and in Nairobi it works better than most people expect — as long as you know how the day is structured.

What “same-day” means in practice

Same-day delivery is not instant delivery. Flowers have to be selected, conditioned, arranged, wrapped and driven across a city where a five-kilometre trip can take fifteen minutes or fifty. What same-day actually means is: an order placed before the cut-off is arranged and dispatched the same working day.

Our cut-off is 2:00pm, Monday to Saturday. Order before then and your flowers go out that day. After 2:00pm, we arrange for first delivery the following morning — and we will tell you that at the time of ordering rather than letting you find out.

The honest reason for a cut-off is traffic. An order confirmed at 4pm on a weekday means a rider heading into Nairobi’s evening congestion with fresh flowers in the back. The bouquet arrives late and tired. Neither of us wants that delivery.

Where we deliver

Same-day covers Nairobi and the surrounding suburbs — Westlands, Kilimani, Lavington, Karen, Runda, Muthaiga, Kileleshwa, Parklands, South B and C, Langata, Embakasi, Ruaka, Kiambu Road, Thika Road as far as Ruiru, and the CBD.

Outside Nairobi we deliver countrywide by arrangement. Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret and Nanyuki are all regular destinations, but they need a day’s notice and a conversation about timing. Message us with the town and we will tell you honestly what is possible rather than taking the order and hoping.

The four things to have ready before you order

Most delays are not floral. They are informational. Have these four things to hand and your order takes about two minutes:

  1. The recipient’s phone number. This is the single most important detail. Our rider calls on arrival. Without a working number, a delivery to an apartment block or an office park becomes a search.
  2. A specific location. “Westlands” is not an address. “Delta Towers, 4th floor, reception” is. Estate name, house or apartment number, gate, landmark — the more precise, the better.
  3. Your message for the card. Write it out properly, including how you want to sign off. Handwritten cards get photographed and kept.
  4. Whether it is a surprise. If the recipient does not know, say so. We will call you rather than them if anything needs sorting, and we will not spoil it.

Delivery to an office versus a home

These are genuinely different problems.

Offices are the easier delivery and the better one for a surprise — someone is always at reception, and flowers arriving at a desk are seen by everybody, which is half the gift. Send them mid-morning. Flowers delivered at 4:45pm mean the recipient carries a bouquet home on a matatu.

Homes need more thought. If nobody is in during the day, an evening slot works better. Tell us if there is a guard who can receive, and whether that is acceptable to you — for some occasions it is fine, for a proposal it is not.

What travels well, and what does not

All flowers are not equally suited to a hot afternoon in a vehicle. Roses, chrysanthemums, carnations and gerberas are workhorses — sturdy, dependable, and they arrive looking exactly as they left. Kenya grows some of the best roses in the world, which is why they anchor most of our arrangements.

Lilies and tulips are more delicate and better suited to a morning delivery. Hand-tied bouquets in a water wrap travel better than tall arrangements in shallow containers, which do not enjoy speed bumps.

If you tell us the delivery is going somewhere hot or far, we will build the arrangement differently. That is a decision we would rather make deliberately than let the weather make for us.

How to order

Browse the shop, add what you want to the cart, and place the order. You will be asked for a name, phone number and delivery location, and then handed to WhatsApp with your order already written out — so the conversation starts with everything we need instead of twenty questions.

If you would rather just describe what you want and let us suggest something, message us directly. Tell us the occasion, the budget and who it is for. We will send you two or three options.
